Ozarks Hunter Sees Five-Headed Buck

Springfield, MO—Local hunter Hal Nimmers said he saw a giant buck over the weekend but chose not to harvest the deer because he wanted to see “how big it’d be next year.”
“I was in my tree stand when a giant five-headed deer came stomping through the brush, each head had at least 14 points. All total, it was a 70-point non-typical rack. Non-typical because deer usually only have one head, not five,” Nimmers explained.
The Missouri Conservation Department released a statement addressing the man’s claim saying that while non-typical racks are rare, a five-headed deer is totally unbelievable. Jim Killowue said, “I’ve been hunting Greene county for 15 years and I’ve never seen a non-typical rack. I’ve certainly never seen a multi-headed deer. I’m calling bullshit.”
Not to be deterred, Nimmers said, “I was amazed by the deer – I was awestruck. I could hear the heads talking and each one spoke in a different language. Yeah I took a shot and missed. Actually, I think the deer absorbed my bullet then coughed up the lead and spit it out. I just couldn’t believe the damn thing was there in front of me. I decided not to take another shot and let it live until next season. Who knows how many heads it will have next year!?”
Nimmers’ friends and hunting partners say he never gets a big buck but always sees something wonderful while in the woods. Killowue suggested that Nimmers lay off the wild mushrooms before climbing into his stand. “He always has a buck that gets away, but this year he’s taken it to a new level.”
