Nixa, MO—According to reports, a person with multiple personalities is working the drive thru at McDonald’s in Southwest Missouri. Leonard Hillary, a local customer, claims that every time he visits the McDonald’s located on HWY 14 near US 160 the person asking for his order uses two different voices.
“I pulled up and this woman asked me if I wanted to try a new Frappe with my breakfast order. She was very pleasant and I was tempted at first as her voice was so soothing and enticing. Her tones really made me want to try out the drink, but I was in a hurry and said ‘no thank you’ and proceeded with my order: two hash browns, a large soda and a breakfast burrito. Then this gravelly voiced man responded and said that’ll be $6.42, please pull forward,” claimed a distressed Hillary.
As of Monday, a petition–circulated locally–has collected over 200 signatures from citizens who support providing treatment for the delusional employee. “People like this need help. No matter where they work be it Wall Street or McDonald’s Drive Thru,” said Nixa’s mayor Sam Clifton.
Other customers have complained about the distracting interaction as well. Julie Nivells was heard saying she felt betrayed when another “order taker” jumped in on her personal conversation with the squawk box. “I mean, can’t one person handle my simple order, its not like I’m reciting 400 pages of rhetoric, I just want a freakin’ Big Mac,” she said.
