Springfield, MO—According to sources, a new Ziggie’s restaurant has opened in the basement of Randolph Heckerson’s home at 2348 S. Tucker. The new location will feature the same trademark menu and atmosphere as existing restaurants currently in operation around the Ozarks.
According to Heckerson he found the business after returning home from work as an E. coli tester at nearby lakes. “I came home there was a dang ol’ Ziggie’s in my basement! I didn’t ask for this? Is this really something that they can do?”
Ziggie’s features an aggressive franchise business, allowing numerous people to open a Ziggie’s wherever they please. The new owner, Ron Lamsterdeen, said he once visited Heckerson’s basement during a Super Bowl party in 2007 and deemed it “the perfect place for a Ziggie’s”.
Ziggie’s already has several locations including storefronts at South Campbell, North Glenstone, South Glenstone, West Kearney and in the towns of Republic, Nixa, Ozark, Rolla, and West Plains. According to a company spokesperson, Ziggie’s is “a family owned and operated business so it makes sense that we have a location in the basement of someone’s home.”
“Ziggie’s have been popping up everywhere so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that one opened in my place,” confessed Heckerson.
