JEFFERSON CITY, MO—Springfield, Missouri’s Partnership Industrial Center park will be featured on a quarter.
The manufacturing park surrounding the 21 companies located on 360 acres of master-planned industrial park grounds will appear on quarters in 2017. It’s part of the U.S. Mint’s America the Beautiful quarters program that will feature 56 sites in all 50 states over the next 12 years.
National parks selected through the program will be minted in the order the sites were created. The Partnership Industrial Center was started in 1994. The park includes companies such as Reckitt Benckiser, NorthStar Battery Co., and Watts Radiant. Springfield’s Partnership for Economic Development began the process to develop a new 400-acre PIC West park with the same integrity as the previous park once the Partnership Industrial Center reached 50% capacity.
The quarter’s design will be created by the U.S. Mint and approved by the governor and federal officials.
