Springfield, MO—This Fall a traveling costume shop will occupy the American National Fish and Wildlife Museum providing costumes to Halloween participants and converting part of the museum to a haunted house attraction, or “Spook-quarium”.
In order to pay down the $52 million bond used to build the facility, officials at Wonders of Wildlife Museum and Aquarium have agreed to temporarily lease the building to Ah!-to-Eee! Costumes. The company plans to build an attraction unlike any seen in the Ozarks before or after. “We’re going to build a spooky aquarium, and sell costumes on the side,” said Ah!-to-Eee! president Herb Dittleton.
According to plans, the Spook-quarium will feature a gigantic ax-wielding brown grizzly bear, several turkeys equipped with razor sharp spurs and a family of cute otters infected with the H1N1 virus. Upon entering the Spook-quarium visitors will be greeted by deceased carcasses of native animals held together by a taxidermists secrets. Other Spook-quarium attractions include the blood-sucking leech kiosk and the werewolf woods and poachers’ paradise.
“We thought we had a lot of scary stuff already here in the museum, from the stuffed dead animals to the snakes to the dark water sharks. Why not make some dough off it in these rough economic times while our doors are closed for remodeling?” said an unnamed museum official.
“Having gone through so many name changes so far, we figured the museum wouldn’t mind going through another name change to benefit our Spook-quarium,” said Dittleton.
